Trial – Fampridine-SR (can it improve walking ability and muscle strength in MS?)

 

Trial Information

Summary: A 21 WEEK STUDY TO EVALUATE SAFETY AND EFFICACY OF ORAL FAMPRIDINE-SR IN SUBJECTS WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS.

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a new experimental drug, Fampridine-SR. Fampridine is being studied to see if it can improve walking ability and muscle strength in persons with MS.


Compensation Provided

Patient Inclusion

­          Male or female with clinically definite MS

­          Subject must be 18 to 70 years of age

Exclusion Criteria

­          Female who is either pregnant or breastfeeding

­          History of any seizure activities

­          Allergic to pyridine-containing substances

­          Previously treated with 4-AP

­          Medical condition (including psychiatric disease) that would interfere with the interpretation of the study results or the conduct of the study
