Exercises for Foot Drop
From a standing position, holding onto the back of a chair.
- stand with your feet shoulder length apart
- raise up on your toes – hold to the count of 10
- lower down to standing position
- raise your toes so that you are balancing on your heels – hold to the count of 10
- repeat 10 times
- walk 20 paces on your toes (holding the walls or furniture is necessary)
- walk 20 paces on your heels (holding the walls or furniture is necessary)
- holding chair or wall rock back and forth from your toes to you heels, 20 times
Repeat this group of exercises 10 times a day for 30 days. Then continue to do these once every day forever. If foot drop comes back start exercise from the beginning again.
These are the exercises that I was given for toe drop, by a physiotherapist.
